The Camino that we share

From Porto to Santiago de Compostela · Pre-Summit Walk

Dear friends

We invite you to walk, over five days, the most beautiful stretches of the Portuguese Coastal Way — from the Atlantic beaches to the Praza do Obradoiro in Santiago de Compostela.

Beyond walking, each day carries a theme that moves with us: an invitation to connect with ourselves and with each other, opening our appetite for the conversations that await at the Global Impact Summit.

In the afternoons: singular wineries, memorable tables, voices that inspire, and very good company — no rush, no agenda beyond the one we choose. Just the pleasure of walking, raising a glass, and moving through this landscape with care, respect, and a light footprint.

EXPERIENCE IS THE NEW LUXURY

Private tastings — from Colares to Albariño.

Wineries with a name of their own

We travel through two of the great wine landscapes of the Iberian Atlantic. We begin with the wines of Colares, grown in the sands near the ocean, and we end in the vineyards of Rías Baixas, the home of Albariño. These are private tastings, held where the wine is made and led by the people who make it. There is no rush and no tasting-room crowd. You sit down with a glass, a producer and a story, and you taste a place as much as a wine.

Galician and signature cuisine, seafood and Michelin stars.

Memorable tables

Galicia is one of the great food regions of Europe, and we eat accordingly. Our dinners bring together the best of Galician and signature cuisine: seafood straight from the Atlantic, local produce, and tables recognised with Michelin stars. A long dinner after a long walk tastes different. Conversations that began on the trail continue over the table, and the group slowly turns from a list of names into a company of friends.

The Pórtico de la Gloria, monasteries and pazos closed to the public.

Private visits

The Camino opens doors that are closed to most visitors. Our program includes access to the Pórtico de la Gloria, the Romanesque masterpiece at the heart of the cathedral of Santiago, as well as monasteries and pazos (the historic manor houses of Galicia) that are not open to the public. We see them without the crowds, in the quiet that these places were built for.

The world's only maritime procession, up the Ría de Arousa.

La Traslatio

The most singular moment of the journey is the one that happens on the water. La Traslatio is the world’s only maritime procession, and we sail it up the Ría de Arousa. It follows the legendary route of the Apostle’s arrival by sea to Galicia, in the opposite direction from the one we walked. After days on foot, seeing the Camino from the water gives a new perspective on the road, and it is an experience few pilgrims ever live.

LODGINGS WITH SOUL

Parador de Baiona 4★

A medieval fortress facing the sea.

The journey opens on a headland above the Ría de Vigo, inside the walls of the old fortress of Monterreal. The Parador de Baiona sits in a green, windswept promontory surrounded by ramparts, with the Atlantic on almost every side. It is a place built to watch the horizon. Baiona is also the village where, in 1493, the caravel La Pinta arrived with the news of a new world.

After the first walk, you arrive at a castle that has seen centuries of ships come and go. You can stroll the ancient walls at sunset, watch the light change over the bay, and fall asleep to the sound of the sea. It is the right place to start: grand, calm, and a little bit unreal.

Albergue Murgadán

The real "peregrino" experience, Galician rural housing.

Midway through the journey, the Camino asks for something simpler, and this is where you find it. Albergue Murgadán is the pilgrim night in its most authentic form: a traditional rural house of inland Galicia, with stone, wood, and the quiet of the countryside around you. There are no marble lobbies and no room service, only a warm bed, a shared roof, and the company of your fellow pilgrims.

This is where the group becomes a group. You share the evening, the table and the stories of the day, the way pilgrims have done for a thousand years. For many people it ends up being the most memorable night of the whole Camino, precisely because it is the simplest.

* Please note: because of the nature of the albergue, single rooms are not available here.

Parador de Santiago 5★

The Pilgrims' Hospital of 1499, on the Praza do Obradoiro.

The journey ends in the most extraordinary place of all. The Parador de Santiago was founded in 1499 by the Catholic Monarchs as a hospital for the pilgrims who arrived exhausted from the road. More than five centuries later, it still stands on the Praza do Obradoiro, facing the cathedral, and still opens its doors to those who complete the Camino.

You sleep inside the same walls that sheltered pilgrims for generations, with its stone courtyards, its historic chapel and its Plateresque façade. After days of walking, you are just steps from the cathedral doors. There is no better way to close a Camino: arriving on foot at the square in the afternoon, and spending the night in the very place that was built to welcome you.
